Study on the Isolation of Bacteria from Door Knobs of Hospital

Abstract
|
|
|
From May to June 1973, study on the isolation of bacteria from door knobs of hospital was carried out in Busan Gospel Hospital.
The summarized results were as follows.
1) One hundred and twenty-nine strains were isolated from 102 door knobs. (Inside of door 51 knobs and outside of door 51 knobs)´
2) One to two strains a knob we Isolated.
3) Frequencies among 129 strains were staphylococcus 49 strains (38.0%), bacillus subtilis 21 strains(16.3%), E. coli 16 strains(12. 4%), streptococci 13 strains (10. 1%), fungi 12 strains(9.3%) and so on.
4) There were no relationships between inside and outside knobs.
